Billing and usage

Understand allowances, extra usage, and why a run may be paused.

Plans and current prices#

Your company pays for usage rather than seats. The pricing page and your Billing page show current plan prices, included allowances, and any account-specific terms. Owners, admins, and billing members can manage payment and plans.

What counts#

One story at one viewport in one browser is one visual snapshot. Each mode or browser adds coverage. Accessibility adds one check per tested story and viewport in Chromium. Skipped stories are not counted.

For example, 100 stories at two viewports in three browsers produces 600 visual snapshots. With accessibility on for both Chromium viewports, it adds 200 accessibility checks, for 800 billed checks in total.

Smart Snapshots counts unchanged stories as checked snapshots even when their images are reused. It reduces capture work, not the per-story usage count.

Trial#

An eligible first GitHub project starts a 30-day Starter trial with the included trial allowance and no card required. There is no automatic paid subscription at the end. The trial allows one project in total; deleting it does not create another slot or reset eligibility.

You can buy prepaid credit for extra trial usage. After the trial expires, an active subscription is needed even if credit remains. Subscribing ends the trial immediately and starts the paid allowance; unused trial snapshots do not carry over.

Allowance and prepaid credit#

Included snapshots reset each billing period and do not roll over. Usage above the allowance is deducted from prepaid credit at your plan's rate. Top up and set a spend limit from Billing.

A run may not start if available funding cannot cover it or it would exceed your spend limit. Top up, change the limit, or check the subscription state. Pro may offer limited temporary credit subject to the terms shown in Billing; it is an amount owed, not free usage.

Failures and retries#

Framecheck-caused failures and retries are free. A check that runs and fails because of your story, code, or configuration counts as usage. Queue time, checks that never ran, and cancellation before capture starts do not incur capture usage.

Change or cancel a plan#

The app shows the charge and effect before confirmation. Upgrades take effect after payment; downgrades take effect at renewal. Cancellation runs to the end of the paid period. Unused prepaid credit remains on the company account for a later active subscription, subject to the published terms.

Native usage#

Native preview pricing and allowance can differ from web capture. Check the native offer in your account or contact support before enabling it. Do not apply the web example above to native billing without checking the active plan.
